Ms. Mays is a dedicated and passionate teacher with 31 years of experience in the education field. She has work those years with Columbus City Schools. She is currently a third grade teacher. She holds two degrees, one in education and another in school counseling. She also hold a principals licensure. Ms. Mays has a deep love for her scholars and her job, always striving to create a positive and engaging learning environment for her students. In addition to her commitment to teaching, Ms. Mays is a loving mother to her college-aged son, who she has raised with the same care and dedication she brings to her classroom. Her love of learning and commitment to excellence is an inspiration to all those who have the privilege of working with her.

What did you learn from the book “The Oldest Student: How Mary Walker Learned to Read”?: That you’re never too old to learn. Also, If you keep trying you might not lose hope. She said she has reread the book several times and each time she has learned something new.
What would you like to do in the future?: She plans to become a math teacher just like her mom and dad. She said she’s really good at it also.
