My name is Terry Logan-Mottinger. I am a person of mixed cultural background of both Native American and Black Culture. I am a professional artist. My medium is painting and drawing. I work as a secondary art specialist for Columbus City Schools at Berwick STEAM School. I teach secondary art education. In my pursuit of new creative endeavors, as a progressive professional with Visual Art Teacher (K-12) experience, identifying innovative approaches and improved solutions both motivate and drive me. Observation, inspiration, and determination are my foundation to my success. My philosophy is that introducing fresh prospective and new techniques allow people to evolve and grow.
My goal is to remain on the cutting-edge of advancements in fine art, etc. Here are some of my accomplishments. For example, Educator of the Year Award (1998-1999), Teacher Leader Consultant Year II National Education Association (2015), Teacher Leadership Initiative Fellow (2015), Educator Got Talent Award (2015), 2000n Woman of Promise Award Winner, Created Art Curriculum at the Wexner Center for the Arts on the Ohio State University Campus, Created Art Curriculum for the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, Presented by Jensen Author, “Art with the Brain in Mind” and other Ohio art teachers Ohioana Library referenced as a professional Artist, Experience Art published one of my 8th grades in a national art textbook used District-wide which features on of our Columbus City Schools art students, Wrote and developed 6th grade art curriculum for Columbus City School District, and others, etc.
I try to involve people of all races, cultures, social and ethnic backgrounds, and orientations. This is done by providing fairness and justice to the integrity of pedagogy taught. I believe in humanity and what the human experience means in relation through the arts, therefore I look beyond the person, but only through what they create and express through their art forms. I also try to provide and include marginalized people in society that may have intellectual and physical disabilities.
