Dr. Christopher S. Travers (he/him) is a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor in the Student Affairs Concentration at the University of Maryland College Park. With an emphasis on healing, his work primarily deals with the ways in which Black folx engage in life-making through pursuing: liberatory masculinities, faith and spirituality, and love as a social justice intervention. Dr. Travers’ work is also concerned with how educators can leverage Black thought and epistemologies to reimagine formal educational spaces. His work has been published in the Journal of Negro Education, Equity & Excellence in Education, Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, Journal of College Student Development, and Urban Education. Dr. Travers is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
