Professional Development with EDGE

The Office of Engagement, Discovery, and Global Education (EDGE) in the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE) is committed to working collaboratively with groups to address issues affecting the wellbeing of students, families, educators and community members in and outside of schools. Part of this work includes ongoing education for stakeholders who wish to stay current on the latest and best pedagogies, practices, innovations, and research. To this end, EDGE provides and connects schools, government, industry, non-profit, and community organizations to a host of professional development opportunities offered by EHE faculty and staff.

What is Professional Development?

Professional development refers to learning experiences that deepen and expand the knowledge, skills, performance, self-efficacy, and quality of work-life for practitioners in a variety of fields.

Why is Professional Development Important?

Continuing education helps sustain high-quality personnel, and this is especially critical for professionals whose work directly impacts young people, families, and communities.
