Explore Study Abroad Opportunities with EHE

We’re excited to announce several unique and enriching study abroad programs offered through the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE). Each program provides hands-on learning experiences in vibrant international locations, offering students the chance to broaden their global perspectives. Check out the information below and join one of our upcoming info sessions to learn more!

Hospitality, Tourism and Gastronomy in Paris
Join us to learn about a program that will explore the heart of hospitality in Europe’s top tourist destination.  Through hands on and behind the scenes access to some of Paris’ most popular tourist sites, students will gain an understanding of the interconnectedness of gastronomy, hospitality, tourism, and globalization while exploring and understanding social identities in a new cultural context.
In Person Session: PAES 145, Wednesday, November 6, 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Virtual Session:  Monday, October 14, 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Signature Experience in International Language Education (SEILE): Taiwan
Join us to learn about a hands-on opportunity to engage in English language teaching/co-teaching alongside experienced local mentors to cultivate essential teaching skills in Taiwan.

In Person: October 30, 4:00-5:00 p.m., Enarson 100

Virtual: November 20, 4:00-5:00 p.m.

The European Model of Sport
This program offers students a firsthand look at the European model of sport management, marketing and sports law in Munich, Prague, and Berlin. Students will have the unique opportunity to interact with sports executives and tour sports facilities, along with visiting sites of cultural and historic importance. This program is open to all majors.

Multicultural Histories and Legacies of Spain
concept of social change in domestic and global contexts at the Ohio State Columbus campus during the spring semester of 2025 including travel abroad to the cities of Madrid and Barcelona, Spain during spring break. The talk will also highlight in-country experiences abroad that will occur during the study abroad portion of the course including interactive walking tours, international community service, conversations with local leaders and residents, visits to the historically significant sites of Toledo and Montserrat, and more. While abroad the class will explore sites and experiences in and around Madrid and Barcelona. This education abroad program is part of the 3-credit hour ES HESA 3573: Theories of Leadership in Learning Organizations spring semester course, with travel over Spring Break.

Ireland: First Education Experience Program
Connect the Irish roots of Appalachia to the people, language, music, and land of Ireland with The First Education Experience Program (FEEP) study abroad. The course provides hands-on opportunities to experience culturally-rich non-classroom settings such as museums, working farms, and national parks. In addition to site visits, students will attend seminars and design educational materials for one of the host sites as a final project. A crash course in learning basic Irish is also included.
