This year, EDGE partnered with ISA (International Studies Abroad) to offer Global Remote Internships over the summer. These entirely remote internships gave students the opportunity to work with companies and organizations in four countries (Vietnam, Peru, Australia, and Spain) for eight weeks of project-based work.

Please explain how comfortable you feel with the following skills, knowledge, or ability in the competency areas outlined below having completed your internship:
- Leadership
- Ability to work in a team
- Writing effectively
- Speaking effectively
- Problem Solving
- Initiative
- Analytical/Quantitative Skills
- Flexibility/Adaptability
- Work in a professional setting
- Extent of professional network
“I am very confident with all of the listed skills, especially leadership and work in a professional setting. I felt my internship prepared me for the professional world. I was already a strong writer and flexible worker and these skills were sharpened during my internship”
“In this program, I believe that I especially improved on my teamwork skills, speaking skills, and problem solving skills. The internship required frequent meetings with other team members, and within the facilitation for students, we had to help each other so that we could provide the best lessons and activities. Speaking skills were enormously improved because as I had more facilitation experiences, I was more comfortable to have intercultural communications with the students and other members from the organization. Problem solving skills were also improved because as I faced some challenges, I learned how to solve the problem by trying new things and listen to other people in my team to brainstorm the ideas.”
“I feel very comfortable with my ability to work in a team, with my writing and communication skills. Working remotely allowed me to find creative ways to problem solve, while also teaching me the importance of being able to adapt in the workplace.”
